Important APO, AA Information

APO, AA is reserved for overseas Military addresses and has 3 ZIP Codes [See All]. It only serves active military personnel. The USPS delivers mail and packages to the U.S. Military, who then completes the delivery to the service man or woman overseas. Orders shipping overseas can take approximately 4-5 weeks to reach the APO, FPO or DPO hub. Military designated ZIP Codes do not cover any geography, has no land area coverage, belongs to no statistical area, and has no demographics.

APO stands for Army Post Office and is associated with the US Army and Air Force. The USPS is the only postal service that can deliver mail and packages to APO/FPO military addresses. They are not considered international addresses.

Overseas military addresses must contain the APO or FPO designation along with a two-character "state" abbreviation of AE, AP, or AA and the ZIP Code or ZIP+4 Code. Military ZIP Codes are five-digit codes that start with a 0 or 9:

  • AE: Armed Forces Europe, including Canada, the Middle East, and Africa. These ZIP Codes start with 09.
  • AP: Armed Forces Pacific. These ZIP Codes start with 962-966.
  • AA: Armed Forces Central and South Americas. These ZIP Codes start with 340.
