What's a Store Locator?

A store locator is a spatial search system that allows a visitor to your website to locate the stores that suits the visitor's location and/or service requirements. The Store Locator system is accessed from within your website, but requires no special programming or requirements. The Store Locator makes it easy for visitors to find information on the store or stores that are the most convenient; enriching the user experience for customers and providing very good exposure for your brand and your stores.

Zip-Codes.com Store Locators are spatially searchable. This means that a user of the system can select search parameters that are important to the users. For example a user that is a racquetball player can search for Fitness Centers with Racquetball courts by specifying his location.

Choosing your Settings

Settings are important. They let you change things and customize it specifically for you.

The settings allow you to set the domain name you will be using for your store locator as well as set its name. We will lock it down, so no one else can use it except you.

The Store locator also has custom fields. These are specific data points that you can upload and that will be displayed on the search results. We allow you to set the 'name' of each field. If you want to put "Store Hours" in the first custom field, just change it here. If you want to put it in the third spot, well, that's fine too.

Manage your Locations

You have a list of your locations, now what? You need to upload them to our system. Or, maybe a store changes its phone number. Perhaps they are undergoing renovations and you want to disable it -- temporarily of course. The management console makes this easy.

Search for your locations by name or ZIP Code. You can then edit that one. Every field is presented for changes. We've even built in some cool features. If you enter a ZIP Code, we will fill out the City and State for you. It's not only easy, it's thoughtful and prevents unnecessary typing. Now that's cool!

Import your Locations

Ok, you have 7,396 locations. Entering them in by hand is NOT an option in your mind. We agree! That's why we've built the import engine.

Simply select the CSV file from your computer, and upload. Review the columns (to make sure all is in order), then let the system do the heavy lifting.

This tool sports some nice features such as auto corrections. If a location is missing a City or State, we will fill it in based on the ZIP Code. Do you have the Address, City & State but not the ZIP Code? No problem! We'll find it for you -- automatically!
